MBL IN THE NEWS – Summer Times 1997

The cover of the May 16th, 1997 edition of the free publication, Summer Times, featured a vintage photograph of Miners’ Bay Lodge.
The text is rather odd, and one wondered then – and now – where the writer got their information, and why they did not verify their material with MBL. The Church had never “served as the home for a number of denominations over the years”.
It was, however, “currently being maintained by the Wunker family” – and in fact had been at the time of this publication, for over half a century. So much for journalistic research and integrity!
But, as is usually the case, any “publicity” is better than none. The featured photograph was a post card commissioned by the Wunker family, likely in the very early 1950’s.
